New fixture locations require running new wiring, which is electrical work that must be done by a licensed electrician and may require a permit. We can coordinate the full job, but our role is limited to the mounting and finishing — the electrical rough-in is done by the electrician.

Dimmer switch installation involves wire connections, so it falls under the electrician's scope. We can coordinate this as part of the fixture replacement visit so both get done in one trip.
